We are committed to safe, appropriate and responsible delivery for children, young people and adults at risk. This public statement is supported by operational reporting, safer-working, incident and partner procedures.
Safeguarding principles
- The welfare and best interests of the child or person at risk are a primary consideration.
- Concerns are listened to, recorded factually and passed promptly to the correct safeguarding person or authority.
- Information is shared on a lawful, necessary and proportionate need-to-know basis to protect people from harm.
- Employees, instructors, volunteers and contractors must follow professional boundaries, safer-working expectations and the relevant school or venue procedures.
- Roles are risk-assessed and criminal-record checks are obtained at the legally eligible and appropriate level.
- Schools, colleges, venues and commissioning organisations retain their own statutory and contractual safeguarding responsibilities.

Raising a concern about a child or adult at risk
If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. Otherwise, report the concern without delay to the safeguarding contact above and, where delivery is taking place for a school or venue, to its Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Do not investigate the concern yourself, confront an alleged perpetrator, ask leading questions or promise confidentiality. Record what was seen, heard or disclosed using the person’s own words where possible, together with the date, time, context and action taken.
Concerns or allegations about an adult working with children
A concern, low-level concern or allegation about an employee, instructor, contractor or volunteer must be reported promptly to the appropriate senior safeguarding contact and the school or venue. Where the concern may meet the relevant threshold, the Local Authority Designated Officer or other statutory authority will be consulted. The concern should not be reported only to the person who is the subject of it.
Safe programme delivery
- Clear registration, attendance, supervision, arrival and authorised collection arrangements.
- Age-appropriate equipment use, safety instructions, risk assessments and emergency controls.
- Relevant medical, allergy, accessibility and support information considered before delivery.
- No private, secret or inappropriate electronic communication between instructors and learners.
- Photography, filming and publication only through an agreed permission and safeguarding process.
- Appropriate controls for online platforms, accounts, shared files, artificial-intelligence tools and learner-generated content.
- Immediate escalation of significant incidents, disclosures, missing-child concerns and allegations in line with the applicable school, venue and statutory route.
Schools, venues and partner organisations
Before delivery, responsibilities for supervision, collection, first aid, emergency contacts, reporting, information sharing and allegations should be clear. Where a school or college commissions delivery, we follow its current safeguarding requirements and the applicable statutory guidance for that setting.
Review and supporting procedures
This statement is reviewed regularly and after a significant incident, service change or regulatory update. It does not replace the detailed safeguarding policy, code of conduct, safer-recruitment records, training, risk assessments, incident forms and partner arrangements required for day-to-day delivery.
